In short: this website uses no tracking cookies, analytics or advertising, and you don't need an account. When you buy the book, PayPal handles your payment and we receive only what we need to send it to you. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
Who we are
This website is run by Graeme Newman, trading as Stage 5 Photographics ("we", "us"). You can contact us about privacy at graeme.stage5photo@gmail.com.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), whether or not the Act strictly applies to a business of our size.
What we collect
When you buy the book. Payment is processed by PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details. PayPal passes us the information needed to complete your order:
- your name
- your email address
- your postal address for delivery
- the order details (what you bought, the amount paid and the transaction reference)
When you email us. We receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
When you browse the site. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used only to keep the site running securely.
How we use it
- to process, post and follow up your order
- to reply to your questions
- to meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records
We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing unless you've asked us to. If you do ask, you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We share your information only where it's needed to fulfil your order or run the site:
- PayPal, which processes your payment under its own privacy statement (paypal.com)
- Australia Post or another courier, which receives your name and address to deliver the book
- Our website host, which stores the site and its server logs
- Google Fonts, which serves this site's fonts and receives your IP address when the page loads. Google states that it does not use this to build advertising profiles.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We disclose information to authorities only when the law requires it.
Overseas disclosure
PayPal, Google and some hosting providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. These are large providers with their own security and privacy obligations.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. When you click a PayPal button you leave this site, and PayPal may set its own cookies under its own policies.
How we keep it safe
Order details are kept in our PayPal account and email, protected by passwords and two-factor authentication. We keep order records for as long as Australian tax law requires (generally five years) and then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted where we're not required to keep it. Email graeme.stage5photo@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
