Our services
Music, shaped around your residents
We understand that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't suit every aged care community. Depending on your requirements, we can provide Music Facilitation tailored to your residents, or collaborate with a Registered Music Therapist to develop and oversee a more clinically focused program.
Service 01
Group Music Sessions
Warm, interactive and inclusive sessions that bring a room together — live music, singing and familiar songs chosen for the people in front of us.
Every session is adapted to the residents and the environment. Activities may include live performance, singalongs, rhythm and percussion, movement, musical games, reminiscence, and opportunities for residents to share their own musical memories and preferences.
- Music chosen for your communityWe consider the age, generation, interests, cultural backgrounds and musical preferences of your residents.
- Any level of abilityNo musical experience needed. Sing, tap along, share a memory, or simply listen.
- Weekly, fortnightly or occasionalScheduled around your lifestyle program — including one-off sessions for special events.
Service 02
Dementia-Friendly Sessions
Music can be particularly meaningful for people living with cognitive impairment — and the way a session is run matters as much as the songs in it.
Sessions are adapted to suit individual abilities, preferences and levels of participation. We pace things gently, keep instructions simple, follow the resident's lead, and leave room for the response to arrive in its own time. Where a clinical approach is required, we can discuss collaboration with a Registered Music Therapist.
- Familiar, era-appropriate repertoireSongs from the years that matter most, often learned from families and staff.
- No pressure to performParticipation is whatever the person offers on the day — including simply being in the room.
Service 03
Individual Engagement
One-to-one music for residents who find groups overwhelming, are cared for in their room, or simply respond best to undivided attention.
Depending on the needs of the facility and the service being provided, we can discuss group sessions, smaller group experiences and individualised music engagement. We can also work with staff and families to identify songs that are particularly meaningful to individual residents.
- Bedside and in-room sessionsFor residents who can't easily join a group activity.
- Personal song preferencesBuilt with input from staff, families and the resident themselves.
Service 04
Music Facilitators
Sessions are delivered by carefully selected Music Facilitators with strong musical ability, communication skills and a genuine passion for working with older people.
Our Music Facilitators are selected not only for their musical ability, but also for their reliability, communication skills, professionalism and genuine desire to make a positive difference. Hertz2Hearts manages recruitment, screening and credentialing, training and induction, scheduling, documentation, quality assurance and ongoing facilitator support.

- Facilitator education and supervisionThe RMT maintains responsibility for clinical standards and appropriate boundaries.
How we're structured
A collaborative three-tier model
Clinical expertise, skilled facilitators and strong operational systems — so quality music programs can reach more communities, reliably.
Tier 1 — Registered Music Therapy partnership
Clinical leadership and governance. Program development, clinical frameworks, assessment processes, facilitator education, professional supervision, quality review and outcome evaluation.
Tier 2 — Hertz2Hearts operations
Program coordination and quality management. Recruiting, screening and credentialing facilitators, training and induction, scheduling, facility relationships, documentation and ongoing support.
Tier 3 — Music Facilitators
Delivery of meaningful music experiences. Live music sessions, group singing, interactive music activities, reminiscence-based experiences, resident engagement and social connection.
Being clear about what we do
Music Facilitation and Music Therapy are not the same thing
Both roles are valuable and complementary. We're explicit about which one you're getting — and we can arrange either.
Music Facilitation
Delivered by trained Hertz2Hearts Music Facilitators. Designed to provide meaningful recreational, social and wellbeing-focused music experiences. This is not clinical music therapy.
- Engagement, enjoyment and connection
- Live music, singing and familiar songs
- Rhythm, movement and interactive activities
- Reminiscence and social interaction
Registered Music Therapy
Delivered by qualified Registered Music Therapists. Where a more clinically focused service is appropriate, we collaborate — the RMT designs and oversees the program, with trained facilitators supporting delivery where suitable.
- Clinical assessment
- Therapeutic goal setting
- Individualised interventions and treatment planning
- Clinical evaluation and quality review
Not sure which fits your residents? That's exactly what the first conversation is for.
